" In case I fail the exam, at least, I'll still be good to look at!"

When I was in my first semester at university, exams-period meant having no time to care about how I look. And when the day of the test had come, we -the graduates of tomorrow - would all meet in the lecture room, looking like cavemen who spent the last days far away from any civilization. Dark circles around the eyes, messy hair and wearing unfitting clothing made us look like the exams preparations absorbed all the zest of life out of us... And made the actual exam comparable to a zombie gathering...
That's how I quickly came to the conclusion: that's how hard-working students have to look during exams-period.

But one day I witnessed a conversation that would change my view on things for life. A girl made a compliment to her freind saying that she looks gorgeous today, wondering why she made all this effort of styling herself just for coming to the exam. And her friend replied: "Well, in case I  fail the exam, at least, I'll still be good to look at."

I know this sounds stupid, but I think this actually is the best way to maintain your last bit of selfesteem if you feel bad prepared for an exam. Even if you have to hand out a copy full of nonesense to your teacher at the end of the test, you know that at least you don't look as miserable as you feel.
I won't support the theory that the best way to compensate a lack of intelligence is a good look... But it still makes you feel better! So since this day I usually spend extra time on making me look presentable on exams days, just for the case I would fail ;)
